My Book

**update** My book is currently on hold due to the need for major editing. I have elected to spend time blogging rather than editing.  This decision has brought me great joy because blogging allows me to interact with you, my wonderful readers.  And, it allows me to share the concept of The Veil and the beauty of Chastity with you for free!

I wrote a soon-to-be-published book called The Veil.  As you read the posts and click through the pages of this blog, you will hopefully see the connection between the concept of the veil and Superabundance and the virtue of chastity.  And, how each affects our lives and marriage.  My book expands on these concepts and shares my own journey from singleness to being happily married.

As stated in the about me page, I did not get married until I was 38 years old.  So I know what it is like to be single!  I was single through my twenties and most of my thirties.  But, looking back, I can see the Lord’s hand in everything.  I can see how he prepared me and my husband for each other.  I can see how wrong the other relationships were for me and how the Lord protected me.  I share all this in my book.

As a married woman in my forties, I have the benefit of hindsight.  I will share a little of my own journey looking back through my ‘extensive’ single years.  With the benefit of hindsight, I will share the stories of others who have journeyed through singleness and marriage with both positive and negative outcomes.  Names and details will of course be changed.  I am not going to share details about my family or co-workers because there are plenty of examples of people I have known over my 47 years to make my point.  If I do share names and details of loved ones and friends, then it will be with their permission.

When I was single, I loved the book “Passion and Purity” by Elisabeth Elliot.  I appreciated the fact that she, a married woman, documented her journey from singleness to marriage.  And I loved the advice she provided.  My hope is that my book will be a modern-day version of her book. However, my book is infused with Catholic wisdom.

Elisabeth’s first love was Jim Elliot.  In her book, she shares the story of her courtship with Jim.  But, back in her day, serial dating had not yet taken hold on society.  I, on the other hand, had my share of dates and courtships similar to you single girls today.  It is a different ball game today.  However, there is something that was true back in Elisabeth’s day, that is true now and will forever be true:  The wisdom of Chastity.

“All wisdom is from the Lord God, and hath been always with him, and is before all time.” Sirach 1:1

My book will show you how to recognize when you are with the man who God intends for you to marry.  My book will show you how chastity allows you to recognize him and for him to recognize and be drawn to you.  Finally, my book shows how chastity leads to a supernatural quality called Superabundance.  Superabundance, when infused into marriage, leads to faithfulness, devotion, sacrifice, reliability, gentleness, constancy, affection, admiration, freedom, security, peace, compassion and protection.  All marks of a loving and enduring marriage.

Thank you for reading about my book.  I will let you know when it becomes available.  God Bless!

  1. Oh
my goodness, how glad I am to come across this blog today. I have felt strongly that I have a missed vocation to marriage and motherhood. I haven’t dated much because I have had a terrible illness for 30 years. I now know that I was ill because of toxic mold exposure and am getting treatment and gradually recovering my health. I still long for marriage, but do I dare hope for this????

    • Hi Raquel! I need to do a post about my book. Right now it needs to be edited. I started this blog as a way of develping my ‘name platform’ for the book. But the funny thing is that I enjoy blogging so much that the book has taken a back seat. Thank you for asking! God bless, Cindy

      • That is EXACTLY what is happening to me, haha, I’ve barely worked on my book since I started blogging, but blogging was supposed to be for the book!! Well I can’t wait to buy yours it when it comes out!

      • That is so funny, Raquel! I think writing the book helped me to get my thoughts down on paper and to organize this whole Veil theory that I had in my head. I really appreciate your encouragement. Yes, yes, I want to read your book too! Such a powerful and beautiful story. Thank you again, Cindy
